Book Review: More Than Her by Jay McLean

Spoilers Alert: I really did try not to spoil to much info. I'd tried. I swear.

If you have read the first book of the More Than series then for sure you have an idea who Logan Matthews is. So Logan as described in More Than This is Jake's best friend. A baseball player, hot and popular to girls. Because of him, we have team Jake and Mikayla. He was abused by his biological parents. He was adopted by Nathan a doctor when he was a little kid.

Amanda Marquez is mentioned in the first book too. She was there in the wake of Mikayla's family. She is also a friend of her. She had problems with her family too when her dad left their mom.

Logan first saw Amanda in the wake of Mikayla's family, then he really find her attractive. Logan did everything to get her attention. After their one date, things feel different between them. As he was known for being a playboy, he got interested to Amanda even more after their date, but after that they did not get the chance to meet again. Logan got confused with his feeling and Amanda thought that she was just another girl he fooled around. But fate made their paths cross again.

It is a matter of taking risks and second chances and a lot more of heartbreaks.

I can't put my words together for this book. First, OMG!! they mentioned Colleen Hoover books in here. I am a big fan of CoHo and I don't blame the characters to fall in love with DEAN HOLDER too. Just the mention of his name made my heart raised. I so love you Dean Holder. That's why this book got my attention. Anyway enough Hoovering as they call it. Logan and Amanda's story is one hell of a roller coaster ride. The push and pull, the arguments, the kiss and make up after. For real, there is too much going on in this book and then what the hell happened in the end. W T F, sad face emoticon. (LOL)

So let me guess that the third book is the continuation of their story. It is so messed up. A lot of events is happening to all the characters, Dylan and Heidi for sure will have their share of story since their relationship is in the rocks. Lucy and Cam is still strong same goes with Jake and Kayla. Logan and Amanda after conquering their past and trying to make new memories is now haunted by Logan's monsters from the past with his sisters nightmares too which caused him to leave Amanda. And now I think Amanda is kind of back with Tyson (which I hope I am wrong). I can't handle too much heartbreak from reading this book.

This book has a lot of spice, and everything not nice for the two characters. I think it's purpose is to break the readers heart in anticipation to what will happen next. Totally a cliff hanger. To rate this I'll give this a four star, with five being the highest.  There are moments that I got frustrated/tired with their fights. But I am still rooting for Logan and Amanda. Hope they'll get their happily ever after.

Now I need to know who Reid Knox is. What book is he in?

 Favorite Quotes:

"For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."

“So my dad—he told me that instead of living life by time and dates, to live them by moments. And instead of trying to remember how old I was or what day it was, try to remember how I felt during those moments.”

"I can't give you much, or anything at all. But when I say those words to you, it won't just be words—It will be me giving you something that means something. And you deserve to know that, to feel that. So please, let me be the first to say it—because I need to be able to at least give you that...and when I do—those three words will be yours, forever. And so will I."

“And this - this is the moment I knew what it felt like to lose everything I never had.”

“I forget that not everyone that loves you is out to hurt you. It's this moment— when I let it be okay for someone to love me.”

“Everything’s digital now, but sometimes I’ll buy a paperback if I love the book. I love the smell of them too. Like the first time you open them up, and they’re fresh and new. Or old books,”

“The worst part is that you and me—we could have been amazing. We could have had it all, Logan. Everything. And you fucked it up.”

“You know what my favorite part of the day is? It's those few seconds in the morning, when my mind wakes up but my body hasn't, and I feel you in my arms. And I know that when I open my eyes, it's you that I get to see.”

“He grabbed my hand and placed it over his heart. "You and me," he shouted. "We're going to make new memories. Ones that you aren't afraid of. And it's going to be amazing.”

“My dad--he would call it timeless, or classic. The type of beauty that no matter what time, age or era, would always still be beautiful. She was beautiful.”
