COFFEE PRINCE IN SOBAN K-TOWN GRILL

Recently Soban just opened their second branch in Alabang Town Center. As a self proclaimed Korean person by heart who loves to eat samgyupsal and kimchi and with friends who loves to eat as well we set the date for another mouthwatering Korean food exploration.

Location: ★★★★ Soban's address is at Ground Floor, ATC Corporate Center, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. If you are from the south definitely you know the whereabouts of each store but if you are new to ATC you'll definitely find it quite difficult to find as it was situated at the side of ATC mall. Your nearest landmark is the Sykes building. But you can always ask around with the locals or the guards on duty who are very well familiar with the place.

Facilities:
★★★★ The place is clean and nice, though it is a bit small for a restaurant. Because of that you have to wait and queue outside if it happens that the resto is full on the day of your visit. Definitely there is no exact time on how long you are going to wait since people always love to take  their time in eating. Luckily for us, there are still an available chairs and tables since our group is small. I believe you can call in advance to make a reservation as I saw tables with reserved sign on it.

Staff/Service: ★★★★ One factor that I am considering in rating a restaurant is the service the staff is providing. Who wouldn't want a welcoming and attentive host right? The staff's are accommodating and observant which is a very good trait. Since the resto has meals or food sets that offer unlimited side dishes and food it is really nice that the staff initiates to offer/ask if you want a refill. After our meal the manager talks to us and gets our comment about the food and their service which is good since they are doing their part to improve the areas the customer finds lacking.

House Special: Coffee Prince dessert
Food: ★★★★We have the 6 flavor samgyupsal set with unlimited side dishes and rice. The pork belly is in thin and fine cut, serving of the meat is in just the right amount. This is the first Korean resto that we visited that has different flavors for the pork belly which is something new for our taste buds. My friend liked the fruity flavor, mine is the wine flavor. We haven't talked about the dessert yet. I ordered their best seller Coffee Prince and it was really really good. I so love the coffee flavored ice cream and it has a red bean paste and graham. But the water spinach (kangkong) side dish is a bit too salty for my taste. Also the rice used is not the regular sticky Korean rice, you'll know it when you use chopsticks to eat it.

6 flavor samgyupsal: original, fruity, wine, soy garlic, doenjang and chili bean

Price: ★★★★ I find it a little bit overpriced. There are a lot of Korean restaurants around south who offers unlimited samgyupsal, which will only cost you less than 400 pesos. If you are a big eater you'll choose the one with unlimited meat but for those who have a small room in their tummy this place is good for you and your friends to share.

Verdict: ★★★★ Therefore, I'll still give this a two thumbs up, and will recommend to friends since their samgyupsal is tasty with a twist. It is Korean cuisine with a fusion of global flavors. I'll definitely go back and try their other dish in the menu.
